Raised in Independence, Missouri, Tanya always strived to re-define “independence”. Starting out as a singer at a young age, she always knew that the true way to independence was through performing. Her first moment in the spotlight was performing at church and she knew that she had found her calling.
Let the church say, "Amen."
After completing her BFA in Musical Theatre, Tanya moved to the city of her dreams. She quickly found out that all of the cross-training she had done was going to be fully utilized. Having done everything from Box Office Management, to Stage Management, Tanya has been able to find multiple avenues in the career that she has always loved.
Outside of the proscenium, Tanya has also found a love for performing the art of Cabaret. Storytelling has always been at the forefront of Tanya’s training, and being able to tell her own story has created a new avenue of self-expression. She is currently working on a new cabaret about her road to independence.
She does have a confession to make. During the current quarantine, Tanya has been cheating on her true love - the theatre - with Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. She’s been texting the theatre, but they’ve been leaving her on read. She hopes that they can get back to the way things were in the near future.
